How to organize Google Drive folders by monday.com groups and subitems
Use DriveSync to create folders by board group, give subitems their own folders, and move project folders when items change groups.
Match board groups to folder organization#
The group-based creation template creates an item folder within the corresponding group folder below your selected Google Drive parent. First establish the structure with the groupwise creation automation. Configure a separate move automation for each intended destination group. Matching an existing Drive folder’s name to a board group does not establish this connection.
Create subitem folders#
Use the subitem-created template when each subtask needs its own folder. Configure its parent-folder input in the automation, then test with a new subitem.
Route items into different parent folders#
The parent-column template takes a parent folder and folder name from board columns. This lets each item carry its own destination instead of using one fixed parent for every item.
Keep folder names current#
Renaming templates work with folders created by DriveSync and respond to a selected column change or an item-name change. In either case, configure the folder link and the name source separately.
