Why are my monday.com files not syncing to Google Drive?
If an automation succeeds but no files appear in Google Drive, check that it copies files and uses the correct Files column and folder link.
Confirm that the automation copies files#
Creating a folder and syncing files are separate actions. A successful folder-creation run can produce a folder without copying any files. Add a file-sync automation if your workflow only creates folders.
Trace one file from source to destination#
- 1
Choose a single item with a small test file in the source Files column.
- 2
Check that the file-sync action points to that column.
- 3
Open the folder URL in the item’s destination Link column.
- 4
Compare that destination column with the one selected in the automation.
- 5
Check the connected Google account’s access to the destination.
- 6
Trigger the file-sync action and inspect both its run history and the folder contents.
Check the trigger separately#
If the automation starts when a column changes, confirm you changed the configured trigger column. A Files column can be both the trigger and the source, but selecting the source alone does not set the trigger.
When the mappings are correct#
A success badge is not proof that the expected file arrived. If a controlled test still fails, send support the source column, destination link, automation settings, run time, and error details. Some cases need investigation even after access and link checks pass.
Common questions
Why does monday.com say the automation succeeded when the Drive folder is empty?
Check which action succeeded. A folder-creation automation creates the folder but does not copy files. If the file-sync action ran, check its source column, destination link, trigger, and connected account before sending the failed test to support.
