Getting started
How to connect monday.com to Google Drive
Use DriveSync to connect your monday.com board to Google Drive, create a folder for each item, and set up file syncing.
Before you begin#
You’ll need a monday.com board, permission to add the integration, and a Google account that can access your destination folder.
- Add a Link column to store each item’s Google Drive folder URL.
- Choose the Files column you want to copy from.
- Start with one sample item and a small file.
Install and authorize#
- 1
Open DriveSync in the monday.com marketplace and install it in your account.
- 2
Open your board’s Integrate area, search for DriveSync, and select a folder-creation template.
- 3
Authorize monday.com, then sign in to the Google account you want to connect and review the requested permissions.
Manage your Google connection#
Add the DriveSync Settings board view using the plus beside the board tabs, then Apps → DriveSync Settings. Open Settings to connect or disconnect your Google account and review Current Subscription.
Create your first folder#
- 1
Choose the template triggered when a new item is created.
- 2
Open your parent folder in Google Drive and copy its URL from the address bar.
- 3
Paste the URL into the template’s parent-folder field.
- 4
Select your Link column and add the automation to the board.
- 5
Create one new item. Open the link that appears on it and verify the folder location.
Add file syncing#
Folder creation and file copying use separate automations. Once the folder link exists, add a file-syncing automation and map its trigger, source file column, and destination folder column.
Common questions
Does connecting Google Drive automatically copy my files?
No. Connecting the account gives DriveSync access, but you still need to add a file-sync automation and choose the source Files column and destination folder-link column.
Will the new-item automation run for items already on my board?
No. Adding a new-item automation does not recreate existing items. Use a button automation to create their folders, then use a file-sync button to copy their files.
