How to create Google Drive subfolders from monday.com
Build a client, project, and deliverables folder structure by saving each folder link in a separate monday.com column and using it for the next level.
Give each folder level its own link#
A nested workflow needs the parent folder URL before it can create the next folder. Store each generated link in a separate Link column so the next step can use it.
| Example column | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Client Folder | Parent for the project folder |
| Project Name | Name of the project folder to create |
| Project Folder | Saved project-folder link |
| Deliverables Folder | Saved child-folder link for file syncing |
Create the next level#
- 1
Create or populate the first parent-folder Link column.
- 2
Use the DriveSync template that creates a folder when a column changes.
- 3
Choose the parent-link column as the trigger when its availability should start the next step.
- 4
Map Parent Folder to that link, Folder Name to the name source, and Folder Link to a separate destination column.
- 5
Use the saved child link as the parent for the following level.
- 6
Point the file-sync action to the final folder-link column.
Test the sequence#
Test with one item and watch each folder link populate in order. Open each link and confirm its parent before adding more levels or items.
